      Bush's Speech: Surprisingly Coherent
      Jake Huneycutt,

"This bailout is complete crap. Either we should find a way to re-liquify institutions that have a chance of survival (with the government making a profit on it), the government should lend out money itself by establishing a National Bank (thereby making a profit)."

What do you think they are doing? Do you not understand that the government will be buying these securities at a discount and holding them till maturity. A lot of people don't understand that a good portion of subprime securities have had no defaults but have been severely marked down because there is no market for them. I highly doubt the gov't is going to lose any money on this deal.

Bill Gross: Politicking for His Own Bailout
So you are bashing Gross (who has a history of making correct market calls) but not supporting a position of your own. You really aren't explaining why Gross's ideas are so wrong.

Focus Media: Will Massive Accounts Receivable Lead to a Future Write-Down?
"Based on the fact the company was still in the midst of fully integrating their various acquisitions, I gave the management the benefit of the doubt regarding the AR situation in Q1, however I expected a significant reduction in the AR balance in Q2. Anticipating a reduction in the range of $60 to $70M, which would have put the balance in a more acceptable range, instead the balance ballooned by some $60M to $321M."

Focus is still in the process of integretating the CGEN acquisition, which is party responsible for the high A/R. They said there would be a "significant reduction" of the A/R this quarter. I believe there will be a lot of improvement in this area next quarter because it seems like management is hitting on all cylinders.

      We will wait and see.

Is Apple a Better Stock Than Google?
The internet is still growing rapidly around the world and Google is going to benefit tremendously from that. They expect int'l revenue to grow to 65% of sales (it is currently somewhere around 50%). Not to mention Youtube, which has already had a cultural impact in this country and will continue to grow. Add in Android, their platform for mobile phones and I think that Google has excellent long term prospects. With the types of people that Google hires, they will always be innovating and at the forefrunt of internet revolution.
